About Africa

The power and energy sector in Sub-Saharan Africa offers a unique combination of transformative potential and attractive investment options.

The regions power sector is significantly under developed in regards to energy access, installed capacity or overall consumption.

IMF’s regional economic outlook for the region projects that growth momentum in the region remains fragile marking a break from the rapid expansion witnessed since the turn of the millennium. While Sub Saharan Africa remains a region with immense growth potential the deterioration in the overall outlook partly reflects insufficient policy adjustment which to reap would require strong and sound policy measures to restart the growth engine.
